Red and Black Leeds are hosting our first open reading group, this coming Saturday (the 23rd) at 11 am. We want to use this as a place to develop our ideas, reflect on our practice, and talk about revolutionary theory with like minded people in a relaxed setting Our first text will be “The Revolution Starts at Home: confronting partner violence in activist communities”. This series of essays deals with the subject of intimate/domestic violence in the activist scene. You can download the pamphlet in PDF form from our crabgrass page here.
No special expertise or previous experience with revolutionary politics necessary, just a questioning mind and a desire to explore the subject in a friendly, constructive and critical way. Due to the sensitive nature of the subject of this week’s reading group, we ask that attendees be especially careful to respect each others’ views and experiences during the discussion. The exact location of the venue will not be posted online, but it will be in Chapeltown in Leeds with easy access by bus. Get in touch for more details.
